FAQ
Questions, answered
Everything we get asked before a first booking — pricing, airports, hourly hire, vehicles, and what happens when a plan changes. If something is missing, the quote form prepares an email request.
Booking and quotes
How do I get a price for my trip?
Send the itinerary through the quote form — addresses, dates and times, passenger count, an honest luggage count, and flight numbers if an airport is involved. Every trip is priced before you book, so the number you approve is the number you pay. Most quotes come back with a question or two attached, usually about luggage or margin.
What information should I have ready?
Pickup address and time, destination, how many people, how many bags, and any hard deadline. If an airport is involved, the flight number matters more than the time, because it is what makes tracking possible. On an hourly day the middle of the itinerary does not need to be settled — that is what the block absorbs.
How far in advance should I book?
Request service as early as the itinerary allows and wait for written confirmation before treating it as booked. Sprinters, peak dates, early-morning trips, and multi-vehicle days generally need more lead time than a routine transfer.
Is there a phone number I can call?
No dispatch line is assigned to this brand, and we would rather say so than publish a number that forwards somewhere unrelated. Reservation requests run through the quote form and the email address below. A trip is not booked until you receive written confirmation.
Can I book for someone else?
Yes, and a large share of bookings work that way. Give us the passenger’s name and contact details along with the itinerary, and the chauffeur details go to them as well as to you. For assistants booking regularly, preferences sit on file so they do not need restating with every trip.
How will I know the booking is confirmed?
You get a confirmation that restates the itinerary as we understood it, which is worth reading — it is the point at which a misunderstanding about a time or a terminal is cheap to fix. Chauffeur details arrive before the pickup window rather than during it.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms are confirmed with your quote and vary by trip type, because a one-way transfer and a multi-vehicle wedding day carry different commitments. Tell dispatch as early as you can if plans change. A cancellation you did not cause — a cancelled flight, for instance — told to us promptly does not become a charge.
Pricing
What are your rates?
The hourly card is published and fixed: $120 an hour for an executive sedan, $150 for a premium SUV, $230 for a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and $240 for a Sprinter, on a 3-hour minimum. Airport transfers are quoted flat by route rather than by the hour. The full structure is on the rates page.
Is there surge pricing?
No. Quotes are fixed by itinerary and the published card does not move. Rain, rush hour, a holiday weekend, and a sold-out arena do not change a confirmed price, and an extension at 9 PM costs the same hourly figure as one at 2 PM.
Why is there a three-hour minimum on hourly work?
Because reserving a chauffeur for a block takes them out of circulation for that block plus the repositioning at either end, so a one-hour booking is not a third of the cost of a three-hour one. Publishing a minimum is the honest way to price that. It also means a two-hour errand and a three-hour errand cost the same.
What is not included in the rate?
A short, disclosed list: tolls on the route, airport access and parking fees where they apply, parking during long holds, and Manhattan’s congestion charge on trips entering below 60th Street. These are passed through at cost and itemised on the quote and the invoice rather than absorbed into a rounder number.
Does the Manhattan congestion charge apply to my trip?
Only if the trip enters Manhattan below 60th Street, which covers most Midtown and downtown destinations but not a run to LaGuardia or up into Westchester. When it applies it is itemised at cost like a toll. On an hourly day inside the zone it applies once for the entry rather than per stop.
Is gratuity included?
Gratuity handling is stated on your quote so there is no ambiguity at the end of a trip. Ask if anything about it is unclear before you book — an operator who is vague about gratuity is usually vague about other things too.
How do I pay?
Payment terms are confirmed with the quote. Account clients are billed monthly against the account rather than trip by trip, which is what a finance function generally wants: one invoice against cost centres instead of forty separate receipts.
Are your rates negotiable?
The published figures are floors rather than opening positions, so the useful levers are structural rather than conversational: right-size the vehicle, consolidate a group into one larger vehicle instead of several small ones, and book peak dates early. Dispatch will point out where a booking can be structured more cheaply.
Airports and flights
Which airports do you cover?
JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark transfers are available in both directions by advance confirmation. Private aviation transfers at Teterboro and Westchester County Airport can also be requested. Inter-airport transfers are quoted as their own trips and deserve real margin.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Arrivals are tracked from our side, so the staging time adjusts to your actual landing without a call from you. The quote does not change because an aircraft sat on a taxiway. This is the single most useful thing a car service does and it is invisible when it works.
How much waiting time is included after landing?
A grace period after touchdown, with a longer allowance on international arrivals because clearance times are genuinely unpredictable — immigration and baggage can take twenty minutes or ninety depending on the hour. The specific figure is confirmed in your quote.
Curbside or meet-and-greet?
Curbside means the chauffeur stages in the designated area and you walk out, which is fastest for a domestic arrival with a carry-on. Meet-and-greet means the chauffeur comes inside with a name sign and takes the luggage — the right choice after an overnight international flight, with family in tow, or when receiving a client. Decide in advance rather than at the kerb.
What if I cannot find my chauffeur?
You will have direct contact details before landing, and dispatch coordinates the meet point live if anything is unclear. You are not searching a terminal alone, and at all three New York airports the ground transportation procedure is periodically redrawn by construction, which is exactly why the chauffeur is briefed on your specific terminal.
What happens if my flight diverts to another airport?
It becomes a coordinated new trip from the new origin, quoted at the time, with dispatch handling the logistics rather than leaving you to solve it from an unfamiliar terminal at midnight. Diversions to Newark and Philadelphia are real events at all three New York airports in weather.
How early should I leave for a flight?
Rather than a generic rule, dispatch works backwards from your departure: time needed airside, terminal transit at your specific terminal, an honest drive time for that hour, and a margin sized to what happens if the drive goes badly. The pickup is confirmed the day before rather than assumed.
Which airport should I fly from?
It depends on the flight, your address, and the hour. We can compare ground timing and flat quotes from your address to each of the three so the trade-off is visible in numbers. As a rule, a nonstop from a further airport beats a connection from a closer one, and an evening departure amplifies the value of the closest airport.
Hourly hire and multi-stop days
Can I book by the hour?
Yes. Hourly as-directed hire keeps the vehicle and chauffeur dedicated to you for a booked block, with the destinations inside the block yours to decide and re-decide. It is the right structure for multi-stop days, events, medical circuits, roadshows, and any itinerary that will move.
When is hourly better than a point-to-point transfer?
When there are three or more stops, any real uncertainty in timing, or any need for the car to wait. If none of those is true — a single airport run, for example — a flat transfer quote is both cheaper and a better allocation of the traffic risk, and we will tell you so.
Do I pay for the hours the car is waiting?
Yes — that is what the block reserves. The vehicle and chauffeur are held for you rather than dispatched on request, which is precisely why the car is there when you step out. Parking costs during long holds are passed through at cost.
What if I need more time than I booked?
Send dispatch a message and the extension is confirmed at the published rate before the additional time begins. There is no premium for a late extension. The only real constraint is chauffeur availability, which is why it helps to flag an uncertain end time when you book.
Can the same chauffeur cover several days?
Yes, and it is worth asking for on a multi-day programme. By the second day a chauffeur who has worked the same team knows the buildings, the entrances, and the preferences, which removes a whole category of small friction. Booking the days together makes it straightforward to arrange.
How do changes get handled during a day?
A single coordinator holds the whole slate, so a meeting that runs thirty minutes long re-times the afternoon once instead of requiring four separate conversations. Tell the chauffeur directly, or dispatch if it affects a hard deadline like a flight, and the margin at the end is recalculated.
Vehicles and luggage
What vehicles do you operate?
Executive sedans, premium SUVs, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and Sprinter vans. Dispatch matches the class to your passenger count, luggage, and the shape of the day — and recommends the cheaper class when the cheaper class fits.
How do I know which class I need?
Luggage decides it more often than passengers do. A sedan takes two people with a full-size case each, or three travelling light. An SUV handles four with full-size luggage. A Sprinter carries six or more with bags for everyone. Four passengers packed for a week do not fit a sedan whatever the seat count suggests.
Is the S-Class bigger than the executive sedan?
No — same passengers, roughly the same luggage. What it adds is cabin isolation, rear-seat comfort, and presence at the kerb, which matters when an arrival is being received. If the trip needs space rather than an impression, the premium SUV is the right answer and it costs less per hour.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, with advance notice — mention how many and roughly what ages when you request the quote, and the chauffeur arrives with them correctly fitted rather than installing them at the kerb. Two child seats effectively rule out a sedan, so this can change the recommended class.
Can you handle oversized luggage or equipment?
Usually, with notice. Golf clubs, skis, instruments, a folded wheelchair, a pram, or boxes of materials each consume the space of a large suitcase or more, so they change the vehicle arithmetic. Name them at booking rather than at the kerb and the right vehicle arrives.
Can you accommodate accessibility needs?
Tell us what is needed at booking. A passenger with limited mobility is usually much better served by the higher, wider door aperture of an SUV than by a sedan, and if assistance to and from a building door is required, that becomes part of the chauffeur’s brief rather than an imposition.
Accounts, coverage, and service standards
Do you offer corporate accounts?
Yes — consolidated monthly billing, a named coordination contact, multiple authorised bookers, and priority scheduling. Recurring bookings are held as standing arrangements rather than re-made each week, and preferences sit on file so an assistant does not restate them every time.
What areas do you serve?
The five boroughs, all three major airports plus Teterboro, and out to Westchester, Long Island as far as the East End, and northern New Jersey. Longer runs — the Hudson Valley, the Connecticut shoreline, Philadelphia and beyond — are quoted by itinerary rather than by the hourly card.
Are your chauffeurs licensed and insured?
Yes, and that is the floor rather than the achievement — New York regulates for-hire vehicle operation and any operator worth using is licensed and commercially insured for it. What we select for above that line is judgement about the city and discretion about passengers.
Is discretion part of the service?
It is part of the specification rather than a courtesy. Conversations in the back of a car are frequently confidential, so chauffeurs do not participate in them and do not discuss passengers with anyone. If a booking is particularly sensitive, say so and it will be treated as normal rather than unusual.
What happens if a vehicle has a problem on the day?
It is our problem to solve rather than yours. Dispatch reassigns rather than negotiating, which is one of the practical reasons an operation with depth is worth more than a single well-kept car. A chauffeur who reports a fault takes that vehicle off the day.
How is this different from a rideshare app?
Three things: the price is fixed before the trip instead of calculated after it, someone tracks your flight and adjusts, and there is a person to call who can change a plan rather than cancel a trip. For a spontaneous crosstown hop with no deadline, an app is the sensible choice and we will say so.
Still deciding?
Two pages answer most of what is left. The rate card carries the full commercial structure, including the pass-through items and how hourly blocks are sized. The ranked list of executive car services in New York sets out how the rest of this market handles the same questions, which is a fairer way to evaluate us than reading our own description of ourselves.
If your situation is unusual — an accessibility requirement, a multi-vehicle event, a long regional run, a sensitive booking — send it through rather than guessing from a general answer. The useful reply to an unusual request is a straight yes or no at quote time, not an improvisation on the day.
A useful quote request is concrete: full pickup and destination addresses, local date and time, flight number where relevant, separate passenger and bag counts, and every deadline the car must protect. For hourly work, mark the fixed appointments and leave flexible stops as flexible. Those details make the first response more useful and reduce avoidable back-and-forth.
